Acapulco

Acapulco is a Mexican city and port located in the state of Guerrero, on the south coast of the country, 379 kilometers from Mexico City. It is the largest city in the state, besides being part of the only metropolitan area of the state, and concentrates the largest population of the same.

In addition to having been an important port of commerce in New Spain, it is currently one of the first and most important ports in Mexico as it is a stopover for shipping and crossing the lines that run between Panama and San Francisco through the transatlantic port.

The city has 20 km of beaches, from Barra Vieja to Pie de la Cuesta, of which it is divided into three major tourist areas: Acapulco Tradicional, Acapulco Dorado and Acapulco Diamante. The first one was developed between the years 1930 and 1960: here is located the center of the city and the International Transatlantic Port, as well as the oldest districts and neighborhoods.
